This past week has been pretty busy, which is why I haven’t been able to post in a while. Okay, I actually haven’t posted mostly because I am exhausted by the end of the day and I’m too tired to write.
So this is going to be a (mostly) visual post of our last week.
Jed was able to come home for a long weekend (Friday – Monday) so we were able to spend Valentine’s Day together.
It was FINALLY warm enough to go outside and play in the snow. We had to do it quickly as it was melting so fast!
Spent Valentine’s Day at home with Daddy just hanging out, and playing with this awesome balloon from Uncle Kevin. Friday also marked the first time that Charlotte sat up by herself! She did it once on Friday and once on Monday and later in this post, you’ll get to see her current progress.
We had another play date on Sunday with our friend Aela. It was quite funny watching them together as they are both so much more aware of each other now. Charlotte needs to learn to share as she grabbed every toy that Aela was playing with.
So as I mentioned above, Charlotte sat up by herself for the first time last Friday, then again on Sunday and now she’s sitting up like she’s been doing it for months! She pushes herself up from her side. Her balance is pretty good. She’ll still go backwards every once in a while so we make sure if we’re not sitting with her that there’s a pillow or something soft behind her. She usually goes forward though trying to reach for toys.
She can also crawl now. She doesn’t do it very often, but she’s able to. She kind of army crawls forward and if there’s a phone or iPad in view, she moves much faster. So we REALLY need to babyproof now.
We’ve started solid foods. So far we’ve tried sweet potatoes, mangoes, bananas and green beans. So far green beans are the winner for liking/eating the most, followed by bananas. She’s also teething (which is awesome, but not really). She’s been a trooper so far, but I really hope these teeth break through soon. She’s drooling like crazy, gets the face rash and looks for anything she can gnaw on.
I also caved in and got new bedding as we needed a bumper since she kept getting her legs stuck in the slats.
Daycare has been going okay. She’s usually happy when I pick her up. We’re still going to meet with another provider just to have a backup.
And for your viewing pleasure, more photos and a couple of videos (from this past month).
I tore up some tissue paper and pretended to sneeze. Someone thought it was pretty funny.
And then she started laughing at the video of her laughing.
