Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Even though we haven’t had little Sesame yet, we’re counting this as my first Mother’s Day. But today it’s really about the person that brought me into this world. The person that made sure I was safe. The person that always put others before herself (and still does). The person that made sure I was prepared to face all the challenges and excitement of the world.
Today I want to thank my mother.
I found this quote below that I thought summed up motherhood very well and it’s exactly how I feel about my mother.
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
– Washington Irving
She has taught me well and I only hope I am half the woman she is and will be able to raise our little one with the same love and care that she raised me.
